[Normal day, usual routine. Since there are mouths to feed, Ange actually has to make sure there's food around. Novel concept! So she's taken to getting some groceries, which is still usually more or less Victorian instant meals but hey.
So she comes home with a bag and not really thinking much. Kida or Mairu or both might be home. It's a little weird expecting people to be around but...nice.]
[Mairu is sitting on the counter in the bathroom. Therefor she probably can't be seen just yet. Her appearance, however, is in one of Masaomi's tee-shirts, she must have borrowed one of Ange's bras to stuff since her bustline now matches Ange's. She's not in pants or a skirt, but only in her panties, and her braids are coiled in her hands, cut from her head messily.]
[Her glasses are folded and closed, left by the bed.]
[Her voice as she calls out is flat and without inflection.]
[The tone is strange enough but when she actually sees Mairu, she stops. It seems like a completely different person. Ange does remember Mairu has a twin but...this feels off. They haven't found a trace of her. Mairu hasn't been doing so well but...
Really she has no idea what's going on. The hair is the part that keeps drawing her back. Is this Mairu or her sister or...?
But weird as the situation is, Ange just slowly sets the bag down on a table and starts slipping off her shoes. Need to figure this out.]
[Mairu is silent a long time. And she doesn't move or shift with her usual energy. Compared to how she usually acts, completely hyper and energetic, this girl is sitting with docile stillness. Even her voice is soft and pitched a little differently.]
Alright (is it alright for me)... be here (to be here)?
[Ange hesitates. Assuming this is her sister, she must be scared. But that shirt is Masaomi's. Did something happen to her clothes? Definitely possible. Her hair is sort of a mess but...who knows if she's been living on her own for a while or something.
Maybe the sudden appearance of this person is just making her freak out a little. Being defensive and assuming the worst is sort of Ange's speciality.
She tries to sound reassuring to make up for it.] It's fine. I'm Ange. ...You're Mairu-chan's sister, right...?
[Something really does feel off. If this is Kururi, it could be her nature demeanour but she might not be okay, either. She doesn't seem all okay but...then again, Mairu isn't all there, either. If it's Mairu, she is definitely not okay. And if it's Kururi, where'd Mairu go? Did something happen?
Still, Ange leans against the wall near her, not wanting to scare her or bombard her with questions.]
...So, Kururi-chan, how are you feeling...? Is Mairu-chan all right?
[Really not helpful but...Kururi would probably be worried if Mairu was hurt. Still, isn't it pretty weird that Mairu wouldn't be here? Especially after all that time, when they sounded nigh inseparable.
Playing ping pong with the two most likely possibilities is giving her a headache.
Ange sits on the bed, careful still not to startle her.]
It's all right. I'm, well, I'm a friend of Mairu-chan's. She'll be home later, right...?
[Time to visit Shinra! It is not exactly a pleasure trip. By now it's dark out and Ange got more roughed up in her fighting early on, so she called it quits and wound up knocking at Shinra's door.
Aside from generally looking beat-up, there's a gash in her leg. Some idiot pulled a knife but whatever, he got disqualified anyway for it. She's fine. But since she can't tell how deep it is, better safe than sorry.
And well Shinra was nice and she'd rather not bug Jade and them when they're probably having a cute dinner or something.]
[The man opening the door is the same in all ways as the one she met over hot pot. Even to the lab coat, which is just ridiculous to wear all the time. He blinks in good natured surprised and steps back to let her in.]
Good evening Ange-chan. I'll go get the patient area ready. [All it takes is a once over to tell it's not a social call.] Please close the door as you come in.
[The lab coat is surprising but well. He did seem like the eccentric type. Scratch that, definitely eccentric but nice enough anyway. Ange gives a grateful nod as she comes in.]
Tea would be nice, thanks. Only if it's not a bother. Sorry for coming around suddenly.
[Well, she imagines he's used to it if he's a shady doctor but it still feels better to be polite.]
It's no trouble. Are you injured under your clothing? I'll need to see if there's anything else. Keep in mind, even minor cuts should be treated seriously in this place.
[He pats the patient table in another room, and goes to put the water on so she can sit and assess if she wants to ask him to look at anything other than her leg.] I'm afraid tea will have to wait until after this.
Oh, uh... [Ange thinks for a moment as she sits down.] Yeah, there's some cuts on my left side and arm from getting slammed into a wall. I didn't think they were a big deal.
[Not that she's bothered if he wants to treat them, just a little surprised. She takes off her jacket and pauses, a little unsure if she takes off her shirt but ends up rolling with it because whatever, it's probably easier for him if she does.] You really are thorough, huh?
I may seem quite young and energetic, but I am good at what I do. Actually, I would say I'm excellent at my job.
[He sheds his house coat and puts on another white coat hanging by the door of the patient room. This one is sterilized. He then washes his hands with water already prepared, and lays out his tools as he looks at Ange with complete detachment for her physical charms.]
Could you lay your leg so? Thank you. Would you like a painkiller? This may need stitches. [He's operated on people who don't feel much by way of pain, or who would want to grit through it. So he'll ask.]
[In the meantime he prepares the items necessary to thoroughly clean and sterilize her cuts.]
[Obeying, she stretches out her leg. It's definitely comforting that despite being a bit of a pervert in her opinion, he's a professional. Then again between him and Izaya, it sounded like he'd only look at his girlfriend anyway. Either way, Ange is grateful for that.]
...You can just do it. It's not me being brave or anything like that. But I can endure it fine enough and take a painkiller later.
[Either because she's bad at social situations or just wants to explain, she continues.] Uhm, I've tended to get into bad situations where I end up in a lot of pain. So I guess it feels easier to say go for it.
[He steps away and returns with a bottle, tipping the contents into a measuring spoon and handing it to her. It will take a little to kick in, but that should be how long it takes to sterilize the wounds... That itself won't be pleasant either, of course.]
[He then goes back to the task at hand. If she takes the drug or not doesn't concern him. He begins methodically and thoroughly washing her wounds, using rubbing alcohol to thoroughly sterilize each cut. Not pleasant, but he's gentle as possible. It's not like he's a sadist. He's perfectly capable of a gentle bedside manner when called for.]
[Ange comes home a little later than usual. It isn't a Friday but Ange has a few bottles of different alcohol in her bag. Somehow it feels like that kind of night but she's not expecting to go to, since her new family keeps her busy.
Not that she's complaining. It's been pretty nice and energetic.
Still, she's a little surprised that Mairu isn't home.] ...Did she head to Izaya-san's?
It's pretty fun actually. I met him that way. As long as you aren't an idiot about it, there's nothing wrong with it. [She fishes out a bottle of sake.] Never actually had this stuff at home, weird enough.

Away (she's not here).
[Which is not the most helpful answer.]

I was going to put it away so Mairu-chan didn't get any ideas. It didn't seem like a bad idea to have a few drinks first, though.
