Hello hello hello!!! And welcome back to Emerald! Surely you missed it! The horrible memes where everyone hooked up while turning into monsters, cults building up and being destroyed, creating the internet a hundred years early, that time Chris did a genocide pretty much single-handed-

ANYWAY. So here's the deal! I don't even know what year it's supposed to be now like 1884?? Anyway first things first. Let's toss down some ideas.

So here's where you post what characters you're probably bringing, what ones you feel like NPCing a bit from ye olde events, what shit you'd like to stir up first, whatever. It'll give everyone a good feel of what they might be interested in bringing in and what we can jump into.



I'LL GO FIRST SINCE I'M POSTING THIS. Sup this is Kisha in an account I don't use I figure you know that but anyway. I'll probably be bringing Kido, Letty and/or Chelsy (Alicemare), A-ya and Junko? I'm pretty flexible though honestly. I'm also considering Rena, Lemina, ...Maybe even Pascal god I dunno. Or Garry.

NPCing/bringing our occasionally wise I'm good with doing anything. Erika would have stuck it out with Zelos, Lion would be running numerous charities by now, Minene is still living in a box bombing churches andddd I think that was it for super important things??

And plot wise god I am craving some body horror like no tomorrow and forced/trapped into horrible situations.

I'll bring Sion probably, I might try ONCE AGAIN to pick up with Ion, and from there I don't know I'm the worst at decisions but I really want to play someone new maybe ah.

NPCing/sticking around Mikado would definitely be. Around. With his internet and magic. And I'd play him now and then! Shinra is a terrible underground doctor who's good at his job.

Somewhere between NPC and I just want to bust in and play with him ON A HORSE when I feel like it, Kinzo is a business tycoon doing who the hell knows what rich people do. But whatever you imagine, I wouldn't put it past him.

As far as characters go, I think I'll bring back Ib, because who else among my characters is so well-suited for this kind of game, gosh? As for other characters, idk, maybe I'll bring Merrill back too not that I even played her here for long OR SICKLE TOO or maybe I'll bring in one of my sad Fire Emblem kids and watch Farrah torture me or all of these, decisions are hard.

But, oh, yes, Ib would have still been meandering around, keeping her rose close, and who even knows what Merrill does when she's not making bad decisions.

Touya is definitely coming back, ripped soul and firey god dragon waiting in the wings and crazy BUFFAFRO and all. Red may also be coming back and bringing his personal eldritch abomination Ghost with him! Touya would have been trying to live normally (rip in his soul slowly widening) and probably healing people at the docks because jobs are good. Red could be found skulking in various alleys and corners upset or getting into trouble only for Ghost to murder whoever was around and thereby keep its host alive (Red then runs off to hide).

It seems I've been encouraged to bring in Mukuro Ikusaba. And I have plans to dump this blue-haired idiot messiahdude in too, just because! ANNND there will be a tiny child demigoddess of some sort too.

Would love to get some awful plots going. Possibly involving Minato and/or Touya and/or indeterminate childgoddessthing having difficulty with cults. Because one's the chosen avatar of a god, one's a messiahdude, and one's a demigoddess. Forced into horrible situations is another good plan.

Further deets on Touya:
Hole in his soul is really big by now! In later months he would have been passing out randomly because he is not okay. He'd also be getting inexplicable fevers, hotter than any normal person gets! And having blank patches in his memory.

Oh and the seal on his Berserker side may be weakening. Just a bit. Because again, rip in his soul. But! People sensitive to that crap will be getting more and more peeks of that flame Will sensed that one time through the hole yayyyy.

Oh and Ghost may have massacred people a good number of times. Like a lot of times. Because it broke free of that box a long time ago.

AS FAR AS CHARACTERS GO Elaine is definitely coming back! And has probably just been bumming around doing cute teenage girl things like ripping off people's faces and and studying quantum physics and temporarily giving up her body in exchange for knowledge and buying cute dresses.

And then I'll definitely be bringing in C-ta here most likely? Plus Renee and Adelle, maybe Lettyrick or Stella! Both Marys are also tempting.

For Characters, ofc Sei and Liam are coming back! Sei's probably been flopping around learning to use powers and generally trying not to make worse life choices. Liam's been a god and maybe held Elaine's hand once on accident.

Sei probably ditched Europe entirely for a year to hang out in canada and america and came back through way of france and he brought fancy clothes and then went to russia to get Will the good booze and now he's back and basically turned his apartments into a tardis so they're way bigger inside then they are outside, shut up will he asked reality very nicely to do that.

Liam is also Ilhatar of the Void and grants wishes and probably drove a couple bishops insane doing so and also mopes because kumagawaaaaa ;A;

Raziel disappeared in like June and he can't even be sensed anywhere fuck all y'all he went to hang out with the book.

I am pretty sure Knight got kidnapped by a prince and is Lady Not Appearing In this Game but she sends Elaine and Sakura prezzies when she can from Norway. Norway's bitchin'.

And going in order, I'm starting with Sakuya since me and Kisha are talking about meidos and how shitty Eastern Europe is. Shortly after the game died, Remilia pulled a I'M BORED LET'S GO ON VACATION and so the entire house relocated to Romania. Garry was locked in a coffin for the duration of the boat ride, Ib had the best time ever, and Kido came with for shits and giggles.

If you want to roll with it in your future tags, Western Europe is really nice!! Eastern Europe is obscenely horrible. Like, bottomless puddles of acid on the road, mutated humans slowly dying in grotesque fashions, all the water is toxic even rain, etc. If it's terrible, it's happing in Europe. Excluding Romania. Romania doesn't let you in its unless you have a Lunarian with you, and it's FILLED with silver-haired immortal prisses. So the entire country is crazy clean and super pure and A+++ with protective runes and everyone is really nice and dress super snazzy in everything from business suits to fancy heian era dresses and they have the best booze in the world.

They also probs met D'endrrah at some point, in the form of that one black-haired chick from that one japanese story of the grandpa who finds his daughter in a bamboo shoot, and who promptly demands to be told about their mediocre human lives and gives them a bunch of priceless crystal and platinum swag and really nice clothes as payment.

They had the best vacation. They'll be moving back into the London mansion when the game restarts.

In less fun terms, Will still led a legitimately boring life committing murder for the church. This time, he is not as insane about it, Lion and Erika are aware of it, and he's reformed the church by now so that his group of inquisitors do the investigations and aren't just handed names by bitchy higher ups. That totally makes it okay. Btw Erika you're a division head now, congrats. Design your crazy female clergy minions however you please.

Kumagawa stuck around for a bit, then one day turned apathetic and lifeless for a week or two before outright disappearing with no trace. The first attempt by Liam to track down his immortality brand got him a meeting with Ajimu, who sat him down in a desk and promptly told him to piss off her property and that he chose her over his friends sucks to be you guuuys. All further attempts get nothing at all. He'll be back eventually though, he's a cancer on humanity after all.

Minor characters I've played: Featherine is now a super-famous world reknowned horror writer. And still a drunk. No one is surprised.

Zeph's cult is actually A Thing now, and grew to massive popularity once people realized that joining it gives you a permanent brand and you can never leave, BUT it blocks out any and all eldritch influence, so they are far less insane than all the other cults out there. They're odd in the sense they're not pushing for a god's revival or starting wars or anything, and the members are pretty much free to do whatever the fuck they please as long as they're not doing anything terrible. In unrelated news, the ocean may or may not have an ungodly-sized angler fish swimming through the depths and randomly nuking ships but that's normal.

Yulia took over Russia and now it's owned by a countless amount of carrion bird avatar Old Ones and humans are in a constant state of terror over being eaten alive. Chernobyl exploded early and it's already filled with cats. Visitors beware.

Lambda went back to bang her girlfriend WAAAAAAAAAAY before this shit happened, LATER LOSERS!!! 8Dv

ANYWAY I'm bringing in a loser (icelies) who is an AU version of that jerkface red-headed rival WHERE EVERYTHING IS MAGIC. He specializes in triggering earthquakes and covering everything with a nice layer of frost. Or sheets of ice, depends on how much effort he's willing to exert. He also has a Sneasel that hangs out on his shoulder a lot.

The other person I'm bringing in is an OC (magicdrains). Her name is Kara and she basically has to suck up magical energy to survive. I'd try to explain her backstory but coherency is not a strong point for me right now. So yeah. I'll probably explain later when I can words.

AND he has been specifically trying to find a way to kill the octopi that come from the Thames because hellhounds are bad but THEY DO NOT USE MEATPUPPETS SO THAT'S A VIRTUE. So as the octopi take over more and more, Jade has been working hard to gather information, spread it to the resistance, help develop ways to protect against it, etc.

CURRENTLY he has an injection that can be taken once every three days which contains a substance that tends to make the octopi recoil in disgust because ew gross. It isn't by no means perfect but it's like developing some resistance to a virus instead of total immunity.

Currently, I'm thinking of bringing Kokonose Haruka from Kagerou project !! He's a cheerful dumb-dumb who couldn't read the mood to save his life, which should be fun in Emerald.

I'm also pppotentially considering another Nanase Haruka (Free!) and maybe an OC? but Kokonose Haruka is looking the most likely atm.

Doing a proper update on characters I'm definitely playing and what they're up to + more detailed suggestion for first plot?

Kido will actually be an Emerald AU. As the bastard child of a wealthy family, her parents often used her for minor rituals and stuff for luck and prayers and ignored her otherwise until her family hit severe money troubles and sold her to a snake cult as a sacrifice. The sacrifice ritual actually worked in getting her in connect with Azami but they don't know that and ditched the corpses of her, Kano and Seto.

Street orphans horribly abused for being monsters - their powers are a lot stronger + scales sometimes appear when they use them whooo - to Tateyama family where shit goes bad after Ayaka dies for real in a ritual from the snake cult who needs a name and Kenjirou goes pretty nuts after surviving the ritual and Ayano does magic shit with the ritual and who knows about her either way orphan trio meet up with Mary and they're trying to avoid cults and shit now because it never goes well.

This Kido is more cynical but has a huge soft spot for cute things and kids like usual and she's more prone to violent outbursts and also has some blood on her hands whee. Oh and she dresses like a boy. No surprise. She's super fond of the clothes that she sees the refugees from other worlds wearing though and likes to steal them so yeah she'll have a hoodie. She doesn't always wear it though.

A-ya is well-off with workaholic parents. The world is a dull place to him because he's not exposed to the more graphic horrors like the lower class so he finds that stuff thrilling. He does rituals all the time but only dangerous ones! He usually does them wrong or gets scared halfway through and nothing too terrible happens though.

He refuses honey because he likes wallowing in his nightmares and has a constant fear/paranoia that someone is watching him not just in his room but everywhere he goes and tries not to sleep in case whatever it is kills him. Overall same old A-ya thinking nothing interesting will ever really happen to him and doing stupid shit to get it to happen anyway.

[As a note on both, they're both second generation Japanese immigrants from business families who were working in London. Kido had English lessons as a kid and through the Tateyama family so her English is good all around, though if you're Japanese she'll speak it immediately. A-ya's English is actually slightly less decent because someone tends to do the talking for him. Though he can read and write it well his spoken is more basic.]

Junko washed up on the Thames post-DR1 and is pretty upset that her awesome death was ruined like wow that is super despairing it's great help me stop me from writing her. Anyway she will not give a shit about walking around in her uh. Lovely outfit in Victorian London and focus on doing a SHSL Despair Cult Part 2, learning magic, ruining lives, making friends and thinking up especially awful ways to ruin their lives, etc.

If I don't do Junko though or she's too high energy for me I'll do Rena from Higurashi, post-series, and she'll obviously be very stable in this environment.

AAAAAND OKAY SO. Here's my idea? What do you guys think suggestions changes totally different ideas instead etc.

But since we were thinking of setting up the beginning of Nyarlathotep, possibly two rivaling cults have been abducting people around the city. Both cults technically worship him but don't know it since he's a douche got a billion forms so. Their rituals clash and that's where everyone comes in?

You could, say have been forced to perform some awful ritual on a friend. Or be part of it through NPCing. Or you're just stumbling onto it or hell maybe you infiltrated one of the cults. This means you could also decide the side-effects of the ritual in question from nothing to body horror to just general pain and awfulness or some curse or whatever. Or maybe you somehow got your character summoned into this bloodshed.

IDK. It seems like a good mingle idea? Because nothing says bonding like horrible trauma.

I know nothing about the previous incarnation of the game really but I like the idea of clashing cults, lolol. So all of them would have been involved in the ritual when they came in/got involved? Trauma right off the bat, sounds excellent.

There is always Huey from Baccano! (who I play at Exsilium) or Just from Cavalier of the Abyss or some other kind of crazy, I can't think of any crazies right now. Unfortunately the crazies I tend to play have twins and I'm prob not gonna bring one in without the other whoop.

t-this is Ian or Lavos, I'm late I know but I feel like I should show up at intro post so people know who I am! I'm a friend of Tiv and Kaji and super down for historical Lovecraft musebox shenanigans.

I plan to throw in Frederick, an OC Mi-Go spy and scientist in the body of a young boy who is on a mission to observe London! When you're an interstellar alien empire you have to keep tabs on these sort of things.

Also Kaine from Nier, maybe from after the C ending because I hate myself.

At some point, maybe Beatrice from Umineko no Naku Koro Ni. Others maybe to come!

I AM LATE TO THE PARTY but that's okay! Hi, I'm Aaron, I am a friend of Tiv and I am so excited about terrible things because I love being terrible.

I am bringing Bernkastel from Umineko no Naku Koro Ni, who is very upset and dismayed and you're all ruining her fun since she's not quite at endgame (though I'm sure she'll have more fun here, she does like trauma).

I will probably also bring in Luciano who is a well-meaning OC who is mostly concerned with the beauty of his own face and hitting things until they're dead.
