[That gets a blink, eyes darting to her after she said it. Most adjectives that came up about his voice were things like 'deep' or 'apathetic' or 'scary'. A few others that were even farther from her dazed compliment. And it's so obviously genuine and so far from nowhere, Lion can see his own thoughts lapse in a quiet embarrassment.

Then she's speaking again and back to sending jolts through his nervous system and the momentary lapse is over when his mind comes back to focus.] Ah. Thanks. Yeah... At least you have the knowledge on what's... invest-worthy.

[That isn't a word and he'd hate himself more for it if he had the focus to catch it.]

[Smiling to herself, Lion leans up to mouth at his ear. The invention of a new word goes unnoticed - for the best - since only the general meaning of what he said needs to be processed. With a soft, warm laugh against his skin, Lion murmurs.] I intend on using every advantage I have. [Which, possibly in this context, sounds a little different than intended. Or maybe that's why it sounds like a promise of something else, because Lion sounds so at ease and confident, relaxed as she presses another kiss to his jaw.

Seduction isn't something she can do with the idea of it in mind.

And she shifts to press into his neck to feel it when he speaks.] You seem so surprised. But it really is so very lovely. It has its own music...

[He knows she's talking about something else, that it's just a response to his comment, but the double-meaning isn't lost. Or the irony that she only gets effective at her seduction techniques when she's not even trying. It's almost amazing.

Almost. And he'd be mocking her for it until her breathing is dancing along his neck along with her words. It takes a bit of effort to pay attention to the latter over the former.] Because I am. First time I've heard that term used.

[It takes her a moment to respond, aside from the obvious reasons, but because Lion just lingers on his neck. How could it be something so obvious to her and yet it's the first time he's heard it? If only she didn't need to explain it.] It's...very soothing and firm. Ah, and constant, too...like...

[An image hits her and Lion lifts her head, eyes bright. It's a moment of clarity just for him, complete focus in her earnest look.] Yes, I know exactly what it is. The waves that wash ashore in the summer. That sound is so calm but beautiful. It could be dangerous, I suppose that's true, but it doesn't need to be, nor does it need to try. The water is warmer than it looks. And your voice, like that sound, will always be familiar to me like nothing else. I want only to shut my eyes and listen forever.

[Whatever feeling she was causing is shot completely by the time she's through her third sentence. Lion has never been privy to the Look he's giving her right now, because it's the look reserved for Erika when she starts demanding to roll around his coat or when she steals his pens because it's 'torture'.

Lion, please stop reading trashy romance novels. Please. The only thing worse than her saying it in the first place is that she's completely honest about it.]

... Really?

[llywelin]

[It's probably a good thing she's oblivious or she'd be offended. Or, well, she isn't completely oblivious, as she laughs, but still mostly unknowing.] Or something like that, at any rate. I'm not very poetic so I apologise if my meaning was lost. I'm just disappointed that I'm the first person to notice it. It's almost upsetting. How on Earth could people miss everything wonderful about you?

[Pouting, Lion kisses him and nuzzles at his cheek.] Please, there's no reason to be surprised. I pay attention to those parts of you.

[alethiological]

[Completely honest about it, and while she's being upset, he rolls his eyes. Maybe it's kind of adorable, and maybe it's enough to drop his expression, but it's not enough to get an exhale of either an amused laugh or exasperation.] I've said 'on Earth' isn't applicable.

[Mostly a joke. He gets her point, just have to always mention it when it turns up. Then after just closing his eyes and leaning his head on hers a bit when she nuzzles. Kind of a adorable, maybe, more like an understatement.]

You pay attention to strange things. I didn't think you loved my voice enough to write a sonnet.

[Lion thinks for a moment on the response, distracted just nuzzling against him.] I like your voice and eyes best... But you probably hear the eye one much more... [Humming softly, she reaches down, tugging up his shirt a little to slip her hand under. It rests near the center of his chest.] And this. I know you noticed when I listen.

[alethiological]

[The eye one is the most common, but he still writes that one off as them being 'exotic'. She never saw gold eyes before, let alone the weird ones angels have that switch between deep gold and bright yellow, so maybe she was enthralled by the sensation of something different. Knowing that he was wrong on that is less surprising, and more embarrassing. Maybe flattering.

Instead a hand rests on top of hers, pressing down just enough so she can feel the pressure each beat makes. Laughing into her hair a bit at her comment. Yeah, he noticed.] I did. You also latch onto my left arm during your nightmares.

[And he can't fault her for it.]

[Really, the eyes are more what Lion can see in them, even if the colour is beautiful and strange. It might be her goal to flatter and embarrass him. At least, she does enjoy his reactions to sincere compliments.

And the steady beating makes her relax a little more, shifting to rest her head on his shoulder, face pressing into the crook of his neck.] It's why I like to sleep on your left side in the first place... If I can feel that it's there, I'll feel calmer. Or at least I like to think I do. I wouldn't really know since I'm usually asleep.

[Smiling, she sighs softly and kisses his neck.] What I like most is being together.

[Which, really, she means a lot by that statement but one particular that always amuses her is how quickly she fell in step with him, as though she'd been in love with him for years and knew everything about him. Will was a stranger, though, but it's never felt like that. It's so natural she can't really imagine any other way to be with him.]

[alethiological]

[At least she can enjoy that reaction for a while longer, until she buries into his neck. Hearing his pulse and quiet exhale of a laugh, and his voice when he answers after.] I wouldn't say it's entirely calm, but definitely calmer.

[He stays awake with her until she reaches entirely calm at least. And her kiss and her words earn another soft sigh, turning enough to press a kiss into her temple, the hand not holding hers tighter now running through her hair. Lion can feel the smile he makes when he speaks against her.]

I can agree with that.

[Her head tilts a little into his hand. Maybe he didn't say it but Lion thinks it's implied that he stays awake with her in those times. Though, she imagines her nightmares are difficult to sleep through anyway, with her clamped on his arm. Still...Will would stay up with her and calm her either way.

She smiles and shuts her eyes. It's unfair, how comforting he is, because it makes her want to stay this way forever. Her voice is a soft murmur.] I'm very torn on desires right now, I'll have you know.

[alethiological]

[Even if he could sleep through her clinging - which is still possible, you'd be amazed what someone determined can sleep though - he still wouldn't. Until she calms down or until he has to wake her up, because she shouldn't have to go through anything that horrible ever again.

And her response just gets a short laugh of a breath, resting his hand on top of her head since she got so relaxed by it. Really. So adorable sometimes.] You'll just have to make a choice between desires then, won't you.

Horrible person. [A low grumble and not the least bit serious, especially with the nightmare comment still warm in her chest. Just pouting at him and knowing he probably finds this funny. 'Cute' would need to be heard out loud to be believed but it wouldn't stop the sulking.

Lion's attention drifts to a brief internal debate. Brief, because the arguments are rather one-sided. Even if this moment gets disturbed, they'll have one after, and likely a nightmareless sleep - at least for Lion. There is the hope that it applies to Will, too, though.

It still feels embarrassing to give in to physical desires so easily, so the mental jury stalls for time before giving the verdict.] Fine, ah...in that case...please take me to bed. If you'd still like to.

[The blush deepens and Lion presses closer to him. The shyness might take a while longer to disappear on some topics.]

[He avoids saying she's cute out loud not because it's too her face or because he'd be embarrassed, but because she'd sulk more or punch him for it and call him horrible or a liar or whatever other quick answer she has when she's flustered.

Then she finds her answer with minimal flailing, or average flailing since she immediately buries into him right afterward. So quick of a switch to spastic, even though he finds more amusement from her reaction than her actual answer.]

Succumbing to lust is a sin. You should be aware of that. [Even if he does relinquish her hand n favor of picking her up. Pressing a kiss to her hair and laughing a bit. Never living it down Lion, but maybe she'll learn the art of tact someday.]

[Sadly Will is correct. It would be 'liar' simply because it's difficult for her to imagine Will finding anything cute or especially Lion that way. Who knows why, it isn't really poor self-esteem. Just Lion and her strange priorities.

Like the ones making her pout still even as just being picked up makes her restless.] Then you're committing sins with me. Encouraging them and tempting, too.

[And she knows she isn't living it down, hence needing to drag him with her.]

[Her strange, strange priorities that make her okay with acting like a dictionary over accepting compliments, or that asking for proof is worse than asking for sex. Or the one that still has her snarking even when he rolls his eyes.

She can try to drag him down, but with stabs back like that... Well. Hope springs eternal.] What. So you're saying I'm a demon now?

[Be careful of your answer Lion. His eyes are closed and it's asked so flippantly, it's a tip-off that the wrong answer is getting her dropped and left there.]

[Even in her state, it is a good tip-off, though a confusing one. Processing information is still a little difficult and snark and flustered comments take zero thought. Lion blinks up at him.] ...Huh? [Blinking again, as if trying to clear her mind to focus.] Why would I think that...? I would be responsible for the sin, if you needed to, ah, explain this... It doesn't change you.

[Her blush deepens as she hides her face against him and her fingers curl over his shirt.] If anything it makes it worse for me to ask for something like this, since it isn't considerate to your position.

[And so she waits to be dropped.]

You said 'encouraging and tempting'. Such actions are the ways of demons.

[And even though it wasn't the right answer, or even a very good save, he doesn't drop her. She didn't mean it that way, and it's Lion saying it in the first place, so it's infinitely easier to let it slide. Instead just setting her on the bed and kissing her, pulling away to brush her hair out of the way of her eyes again.

And just seeing life in those eyes and feeling her blood pulse under her skin gets another smile. Something so many will take for granted, and it's always amazing to know that even if it's some elaborate illusion, she's still alive right now.]

If it bothers you that much, you can go through the Sacrament of Penance. Absolve your sins and all that. [Even as he moves into kissing her again. Worst priest, worst christian, worst angel, and he couldn't really care less.]

[Though quite relieved, Lion still feels some lingering guilt over her thoughtless words. It's not surprising, since it would give anyone a pang to think they hurt someone out of carelessness, and especially for her, when it's something that's been drilled into her head for years to watch her words. But in a way, being thoughtless and shedding those safeguards is why Will is so special. She relaxes when it's just them. That part of her is good and bad, simple is, and her only thought then is to apologise in some way.

And she blushes under Will's look, because even if she doesn't know exactly what he's thinking, similar thoughts come easily. When they kiss, he's warm, and even in her best of moods, Lion likes to hear him breathing or feel the pulse of his heart. Her arms wrap around his neck and pull him closer, eyes falling shut lightly.]

I could, though...I'm not sure how sincere it would be. [Lion's breathing is a little quicker against his lips. Yes, she's certain that no matter how much guilt she's capable of feeling, it doesn't add up to caring enough to regret or stop.] I...I like that you care about me most. [Her blush deepens and maybe it's a little embarrassed as she pulls their bodies together.] That's likely very wrong of me and selfish. But it's why I couldn't be sincere. I want to keep you forever.

[If she thinks he's actually bothered by it, then maybe. If it were when she was more in her state of mind and if he were in his usual state of enforced apathy, then he would be bothered. But right now there's just her. Muttering something about his teasing comment from a second ago, then going into a spiel about how sincere she is or not.

He shuts her up from continuing her rambling with another kiss, pulling back right afterward and then moving down along her neck.] If feeling that way is a sin, then I forgive you for it.

[A wise decision on Will's part. If there's a topic Lion could babble on about, especially in this state, it's keeping him. Even in her head the disjointed thoughts press at Lion's urges, promise him, keep him, be together always, protect him, fight at his side, hear his heart beating, feel every inch of his skin...

It's a wonder she can manage any words, breath catching in her throat at the kisses and head falling back.] O-Oh? Uhm... All right. Thank you, Will...

[Her voice is hazy, eyes vaguely open and staring at nothing above her, because her focus is only in the electric hum in her skin. She thinks she was just forgiven by an angel. That sounds important somehow and her fingers twist at his shirt to cling. His name is murmured again with a slow, shaky exhale.]
