[He wasn't annoyed as he had been, but he still thought he should say something. He'd cleaned up a bit, and with rest he felt a little better and less moody. So now, here Mikado was with a tray of tea, knocking on the door to Will's study.]

Will?

[Still hard not to add -san to the name. So informal.]

[For humans, it's easy to fall into a routine and be fine with it. The redundancy of everyday life brings a sense of order, the order brings the feeling of peace. Even though they live in a reality so small it may as well be a grain of sand, the fact they don't know about it, and they still feel in control of their lives, makes them accepting of that fact. To anyone outside that... not so much. It's easier to notice them find the monotony too constricting, crushing along with unseen walls, being more twitchy and paranoid as a result.

Maybe Lion wasn't aware of it, since she still continued with it anyway, but maybe Lion has the eyes to catch his second-glances at her on Saturday, actively watching - observing - her for most of Sunday. So that night it's a bit less surprising when instead of reading, he's sitting on the windowsill with his arms crossed, leaning against the frame.]

I thought you said you liked monotony.
