Christmas is still around and thriving even in these conditions. It is, in fact, often still called that, though also referred to as Yule or just as the Solstice festival. Most of the specific Christian ties have been worked out to make it more of a celebration of winter passing the halfway point and the coming spring and new year. In other words, it's sort of gone backwards back to celebrations of rebirth after the death that is winter.

The various cults celebrate in their own ways, each praising their own deity in rites for the protection they have granted in these harshest months and in general. Some connect the rebirth of the sun to their deity of choice, others focusing more on food or fertility celebrations. After all, spring is coming when all things are reborn again.

Most of these celebrations are fairly tame on the ancient horror and welcoming, however. Certainly there are darker traditions going on behind closed doors - performed with just as much disturbing enthusiasm - but this is an excellent time to recruit new members and show off the best sides of groups. Humans love holidays and festivals and so merriment is encouraged. Some groups even compete with each other to hold the grandest and most fun celebrations. The Perpetual Care tends to win for maybe obvious reasons.

For other religions or secular types, the time is still fun. Carolling, big dinners and parties, gift exchanges, charity, cards, Santa Claus, Christmas Trees with beautiful ornaments, mistletoe, you name it, it probably happens. And don't worry, there's snow. Not even for a good old frost festival but still enough for a white Christmas. It's nice enough, right?

01) Christmas Meme

1 - Blizzard - Either you got stuck at home, while out or somewhere else but you're not going anywhere. Unless you're outside, then good luck.
2 - Deck the Halls - Decorating time! Simple enough.
3 - Let It Snow - It's snowing out and the good kind. Excellent time for snowball fights, snowmen and generally goofing off in the snow.
4 - Last Minute Gift - Good job. You still need a gift for someone. Time to get it no matter what.
5 - Mistletoe - Oh hey there convenient Mistletoe. Guess what that means?
6 - Secret Santa - Maybe not in the traditional way but you definitely are surprising someone with a gift.
7 - Silver Bells - Not all Christmas parties are a riot. Some are a little snobby. Why are you here again? Maybe someone spiked the drinks at least.
8 - Cookies - The best part of Christmas, aside from presents, is food. Either bake them yourself or splurge on Christmas treats.
09 - Gift Exchange - Just a regular exchanging of presents.
10 - Bah Humbug - Snow is great to look at but a pain to deal with. Slipping on ice or getting sick or your clothes ruined by gross dirty snow...lots of reasons to hate it right now.
11 - The Switch - Either the person at the store gave you the wrong item or you grabbed the wrong present but hijinks have happened and now someone is getting the wrong gift from you.

02) Captivity Meme

1. For their own good. Does this person really think they could make it on their own? It's a big, scary world out there, and you need to protect them from it, whether they like it or not.
2. For the good of society. Forget protecting this person - it's your duty to protect the world from them! Maybe they committed a terrible crime, or maybe they were falsely condemned, but it's your job to keep them locked up where they can't do any more
3. Because they're not well. How's your bedside manner? Whether you're Florence Nightingale or Mildred Ratched, you're in the position of ministering to the mentally ill. Maybe this person genuinely needs your help, or maybe you're just turning a blind eye to their true sanity.
4. For the money. Higher aims? What higher aims? This person is your meal ticket, and they're staying put until their loved ones pay up.
5. For their love. It might be a case of yandere, or it might be a consenting BDSM relationship. Whether it's by mutual agreement or by force, you're keeping them simply because you love them.
6. Because they're cute and fluffy. Who's a cutesy wutesy? They are! Yes, they are! This person is your pet now. Maybe they're a different species from you, or maybe you just don't care that you're both people. Maybe you're even an alien zookeeper looking after a new acquisition.
7. Because they're your property. Slave? Livestock? Who cares what they think - they're your property, and you decide their fate.
8. For the lulz. Hey, what's a little bondage between friends? You'll let them go, once you're done laughing and snapping photos...maybe.

03) Fluff Meme

1 - Cuddling - for some reason you both just want to be close to each other, constantly touching and snuggling.
2 - Pillow Talk - it's the morning after (or immediately after) and you're up for some pillow talk.
3 - Tickles - Nothing fluffier than pinning someone and making them beg for mercy through their laughter.

12 - Caught a sniffle - you're down with the flu or some injury or just got hurt (emotionally, mentally, whatever) but you're in good hands.

14 - Lazy dancer - It's the end of a party, or maybe it's only the two of you, but the tempo is slow and the lights are low. Let your dance partner take the weight and just sway.

04) The Sexy Stuff Meme

1) Seven Minutes in Heaven - So you're locked together, either someone did it to you as a joke or you're idiots. But you're sitting so close and if your lips happen to touch...
2) Chicken - It's just a game to see how far you guys can go before someone chickens out. You're not going to lose, right? They'll freak out way before anything happens.
3) Instructions - Admit it: you know nothing about this stuff. But you really, really want to know. You'll find out from this person, one way or another! Or maybe they're the one that needs education.
4) Adrenaline - What a rush! Whatever you guys just did has you really pumped. You're riding a great high and it's time to live in the moment.
5) Romance - Pure and simple, you'll make this the most romantic night ever. At least by your definition of romantic.

06) Paranoia Meme

1. Erotomania - that person loves you. they belong to you. they might deny it and be with someone else but they're ridiculous. you know better here.
2. Distrust - simple as it sounds, you're being lied to. you can't prove it but you're not falling for their tricks anymore.
3. Hallucinations - a vague classic. those sounds, those sights, your senses are screwed up and the world is upside down. there's plenty of senses to screw.
4. Tainted - you're completely wrong. is it in your family's blood? is it parasites? a disease? aliens? a sin? but it's consuming you, whatever it is.
5. Conspiracy - why are they after you? who knows. maybe you know. but everyone is in on it and you're the only one left fighting against it.
6. Control - your actions aren't your own, even if others insist they are. somehow, either drugs or magic or something, someone is making you their puppet.
7. Fixation - either it's in you or someone else or a thing but this imperfection is clawing at your mind. just fix it. fix it and you can rest.
8. Folie à deux - the more either you or the other person talks, the more you feed into this unease and the more real it sounds. what can you two alone do?
9. Replacements - is it just this person or is everyone being replaced with a fake? you're not a fake, though. you won't let them replace you.
10. Real - is any of this real? maybe you're dreaming or drugged. maybe you're dead. but you need to prove that this is really happening, whatever it takes.
