And again, as usual, when she realizes where she is, she lets out that "ah" noise, not a syllable so much as an audible intake of breath.
He's broken. She broke him while he was gone. And she can't fix what She did because she's just as big a failure as he is. The very first time she'll have to earnestly accept a loss. Or not yet? But she can't even bring herself to kill him like she'd been planning to for months, even when he's wide open. Maybe she broke too.
